Men in Black II (2002) |
To be honest, I wouldn't have seen this film if I hadn't got a complimentry ticket somewhere,
but upon seeing it, it wasn't as bad as I expected (I gave up on the first one after about 10 minutes).
MIB II is another hollywood production proving stories don't matter much these days, but it moved along nicely with reasonable laughs here and there. Tommy Lee Jones played his specialty, a dry character with little or no personality, and as per usual I didn't enjoy watching him. Will Smith played his usual over-lively character, which I have now grown used to. The special effects were ok, although nothing overly exceptional. Overall it is a film you can comfortably sit through, but not one you would race out to see. Side Note:Why does Will Smith go for this type of part so often? I haven't seen Ali, so I don't know how he was in that more serious role, but overall he seems happy in roles pulling on the same style of acting as in "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air". The man proved he can act in "Six Degrees of Seperation", but seemingly prefers not to ... a shame ... |
