Amelie (2001) |
I have to admit, I have always been a fan of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's films.
Delicatessan still rates as one of my all time favourites,
and I also greatly enjoyed the City of Lost Children.
One area in which Amelie differs though, is that it is not as dark as his other work tends to be, although there may still be a little darkness running as an undercurrent to the story. It has all the quirkyness and laughs you would expect in a Jeunet film, and this produces much of the feel-good experience that everyone who has seen it talks about. Another must see from Jeunet. |
